This project aims to meet the challenge of encouraging and strengthening the competitiveness of the region where the IPV-ESTGL is located in (North-Douro Sul) by identifying the specific features and existing assets in this territory and concentrating resources in domains/economic activities where there is or there could be relevant critical mass.
That is, the I&I project aims to contribute to the strengthening of applied research, the technological development of the region, the continuous renewal of lecturers and experts from higher education Polytechnic, as well as the direct applicability of technological products for the improvement of tourism and social sectors and subsequently improve the quality of life of the population.
This project focuses on the following research areas: health and quality of life; Solutions with sustainable technologies;
Innovative solutions in the area of tourism; and ICT in the service of organizational innovation in institutions and in interventions in the territories.
It is also part of the priority areas of specialization (EREI) in the North region, in particular:
- emerging Area "life sciences and health" - it will consolidate the articulation between research and organizations that provide services in the areas of tourism and welfare)
- emerging Domain "symbolic Capital, technologies and services of tourism" - it will contribute to the quality and safety of Douro tourist services, initially promoting the heritage, as well as all the tourist potential of the region.
Innovative solutions in the area of tourism; and ICT in the service of organizational innovation in institutions and in interventions in the territories.
